Estate planning is organizing how your assets are managed and distributed after death. It can also include naming guardians and planning for incapacity.
Anyone with property or dependents should consider a will. It helps ensure your wishes are followed and can make things easier for your family.
Guardianship is when a court appoints someone to make decisions for a person who cannot do so, often due to age or incapacity.
Probate is the court process for validating a will and distributing assets after someone passes away. The process and timeline can vary by estate.
A conservatorship lets a court-appointed person manage the finances of someone unable to do so, usually because of illness or disability.
